Center Line Football Club

black Panther with claws

The Center Line Football Club (CLFC) is a vital part of the CLHS football program. It is our goal to support the team by providing relevant information to our parents and community including game days and times, game themes, any upcoming fundraisers, banquet details, and community service opportunities.

It also includes providing the community many opportunities to give back to our boys via Remind.  We send out several messages a week allowing others to provide team dinners and game day after school lunches.  The dinners are pertinent to the unity and overall cohesiveness of our team.  It allows the boys to have time together and with their coaches in a relaxed setting.  Knowing the people they play with on a friendship level has enhanced the collaboration and team spirit.  It has aided the team in building respect, commitment, and trust.  We have found it has made a great impact on the support they give to one another. The families are also invited to eat with the team which allows parents to meet other parents and the coaches.  We have a lot of fun and are very much one happy family. Any parents who wish to participate in team dinners but cannot cook due to time constraints, can donate money and our club will do the shopping and cooking.

The game day lunches have encouraged the coaches as much as the boys.  In the past, those players who were able to drive, would load up their cars with players and head out for fast food or gas station junk food.  Everyone else just went hungry.  Some boys would go 9 hours without food. How can they win games without energy?  We have solved both problems by providing a nutritious lunch after school on game days. There has been a noticeable difference in performance. We thank those who have participated in providing meals.

Our club also seeks to provide the players and families with affordable spirit wear.  Those boys that help in the annual bottle/ can drive are rewarded with theirs at no cost.  All others can purchase spirit wear at reasonable prices that still profit our boys financially. In order to do so, we hold fundraisers.  Usually we have a bottle drive in August. The second fundraiser is flexible.  We also support the coaches’ fundraisers, such as adrenalin and lift-a-thon.  Community sponsors are another way we raise the funds to allow our club to help our team.  Businesses in the area give a yearly donation.  We are always looking for businesses wanting to make a difference for our kids!  The proceeds from our fundraisers contribute toward photos and film, football camp, recruiting pages, purchasing quality equipment, team meals, senior banners and gifts, and providing off-campus bonding events such as whirley ball.

At the end of each season, our club seeks to support our coaches in celebrating our boys at their team banquet.  There are a lot of ways for parents to contribute to this event if they would like to make this a memorable rewards ceremony.

At present, our club is focused on bridging the gap between middle school and high school players.  This week, we have invited the Wolfe team families to our team dinner.  The parents of those boys intending to play high school football will need information before school even begins in the fall. There are summer practices, scrimmages, and team building that the parents should be aware of. We want to encourage families to have the best football experience possible.

Our club continues year round and depends upon our parents' participation.  We meet monthly throughout the year.  Most of our decisions impacting the next season are made between February and August, and we elect officers in April each year.  This year there will be at least one vacancy.  This vacancy must be filled in order for our club to continue as it is.  We welcome new friends and potential club members.

We parents can contribute in many ways.  Let's love our young men, let's get involved, and let's have fun!  Thanks for your support.
